Welcome to the Coding Asylum Forums. Make yourself @ home. Throw on some tunes and lets start coding.
So what is Coding Asylum anyways? Why did I make decide to make it? What are we all doing here?
I've designed the group into multiple groups. I put up four languages and these languages are their own individual group. Meaning you can join the group, HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, or you can join all of them. This way you get to decide what you want to learn and when you want to learn it.
I plan on having the groups as a whole build their own projects from basic-advance-expert. We should have enough experienced coders to get us started on some basics but I'd like to see the people that are new to coding take over and make their own projects, with the advisory of the more experienced coders of course.
If you aren't ready to join a group but you want to join a group. Don't worry, take your time because I'm keeping a log of all of our projects and I'm sure there will be people to learn with. If not I'll be there to help and so will other members.
Remember, you don't have to join a group just to learn, I'd love people to come help teach as well. So for example, if you already know HTML feel free to join the group and teach the people that don't know it.
What happens to the new people that join down the line?
Like I said, I am creating a log of all of our projects in each group. This way people can join whenever and still participate as a community.
I created this site because I see people on HBH wanting a place to learn and everyone points to google. I wanted/want to learn how to code and I've just recently started about a month ago. Anyaways, I wanted other people to share the same excitement that I have and have other people challenging one another in a positive way.
Coding Asylum is not a place to teach you how to hack. Save that for HBH. All I can give you is the tools to learn the "how tos. I'd like to have it more focused on securing and managing your site.
I'm not concrete on all my plans as of now, so there may be changes but I am open to suggestions!
