Although all the categories right now mainly apply to web programming, I could not find a solid message saying that the Coding Asylum was meant solely for web-based programming languages and coding. So I was wondering if there could be a cracking category (in the sense of reverse code engineering, not the "bad" part of hacking). I would be glad to help anyone as much as I can in this category as I am fairly experienced with cracking and have written a few papers on the subject, one that is publicly available on milw0rm (http://milw0rm.com/papers/132 ). I'm currently unemployed so I have more than enough free time on my hands

Googling it (or Wiki'ing it) may confuse you. It basically implies disassembling and debugging programs at a low level (machine code, assembly) to analyze them and sometimes alter parts of the program, also known as patching.

In the near future I am planning on making this a place for programming languages as well. I just want to experiment how to set everything up with the web based stuff. Not very many members have even acknowledged the fact that there is a forum yet. But everyone I have talked to so far is definitely interested in learning some coding, including me. Especially C++. For the record I don't mind hacking, but I want to keep this 100% legal, because I am going to use coding asylum for a part of a portfolio for myself and whoever wants it to be as well. I'd like to see some hacking courses up (not defacing or destroying) labeled as "Security". As for the cracking I think it would be good but I'd like to talk to you more about it.
